  Came to the US at about age 2. Spoke only English. Lived in Bronx in early 20th century. Minnie and her sister Sarah help raise their younger siblings, since their mother died early. Minnie was a great cook who kept a very kosher kitchen. She carried her own dishes to her children's homes, since they did not keep kosher. All this according to Roberta Shapiro via phone 14 Oct 2001.
